Default factory jack

just wanted to tell all with a 1500 truck. be very careful when using the factory jack. i used mine this weekend (floor jack was broke), when i was finished using it i noticed one of the lower pins that hold the jack together was allmost out completly. the pins should be mushroomed at the one end, the one was not. just check your jacks out before you use them, it could be a nightmare if one failed.

The one time I used my factory jack I got it done but it barely went up high enough for me to change the tire and even then I ended up bending it. Ever since then I keep a hydrualic jack in the truck. The stocks suck big time.

its a good idea to use a bottle or floor jack, although the warning is for some who may need to use it.

be prepared to not use it, is what people are getting at. I used mine once in an emergency, and it bent. Just barely got it done, and it was dangerous as all hell. They are pretty much disposable, so now there is a 5 ton bottle jack in my truck as well. I would say that anyone that doesnt have a stock jack alternative should find one so they dont get stuck on the side of the road with a busted stock jack and no alternatives at that point. just my $.02

i've used mine multiple times, from actually changing a tire to lifting it to put on ajck stands to do brakes. even pulled mine out when my brother had a flat. no complaints with it here.
