MDS exhaust?
I was wondering if anyone could help me here. I wanted to by the gibson super tuck exhaust kit but they said my chasis is to low and they don"t make it for my truck so I went to a local exhaust shop and they said they would make me one until they found out that I had the 5.7 L HEMI with MDS. They said that I would hate it when the truck switched over to MDS, they said it would sounds like a plane getting ready to crash... I called gibson back to ask if they put anything special in their kits to stop that and they said nope and they have had no complaints. so, i guess my question is, was the local shop full of it? cause my buddy has a borla on his and yeah you can notice when it changes over to MDS but its not that bad.... I want to install an exhaust bad so any input would help.... Thanks, Billy

ANY exhaust will sound different or fart canish with a louder exhaust system. I personally ran a magnaflow muffler dualed out. I notice when MDS kicks in but i turn the radio up and have learned to ignore it. It all boils down to "to each his own". Some ppl can handle it ok and some cant. If you dont mind it loud, do it and you should be ok.

The '06's have 2 resonators. 1 before the muffler, and 1 after the muffler. The guy at the shop suggested to leave the front resonator on, that it would cut down on some drone in the cab, and would make it less noticeable when the MDS kicked in. I am glad I did this, you can barely tell when it is in MDS mode. But the exhaust is still very loud and aggressive sounding even with the 1 resonator still on.

Awesome!
Guys, thanks for the help. i think i'm gonna go with the exhaust....one more thing... what seems to be the most popular and most aggresive sounding muffler for the truck? I ride bikes (dirt and street) and they both are loud as all hell, wanna keep the trend going. my jet boat has open headers too.
