lift kit question

Default lift kit question

im new to the site and i have an 02 1500 4.7l, with a leveling kit... i want to lift it up and im wondering what the negatives are. any problems with it afterwards? and should i go suspension lift or body lift? thanks everyone

if you go suspension you loose your leveling kit. suspension kits are setup to be 2" higher up front to level it out. you can always go with body lift and basically have a 5" lift, or you can start over and go with suspension. some people are against body lifts due to the fact you need to lengthen brake lines along with other things. some have also said the blocks "creak" over time. im running a 2.5" leveling kit along with a 3" PA body lift. no complaints, except you do need new shocks to go along with your leveling kit because the rides not so great. if your going for looks i see no problem with the leveling kit and body lift setup. if you plan to offroad or want a better riding truck, id opt for a suspension kit.

bought it with the truck. couldnt tell you prices. although im pretty sure theyre a little over $300 for the kit itself and nearly just as much for the install

4wd or 2wd?
