Ram vs. STI
Well, I would have to disagree with ya josh. The ol' El Es Juan is pretty stout, in stock form, and this is coming from a mustang fanboy. Sure, the awd can launch hard, but the likelyness of either car getting a good launch leans in favor of the rwd car. Even though a rwd is more likely to light up the rears, it can be peddled out of that, and recover traction. The awd is more likely to bog, and add to that the little bit of turbo lag, would need more than factory boost to catch up.
And just for smartass's sake, the ls1's are 5.6's

edit: now that i think about it, brake boosting on the line in a manual car would not work very well. on an auto, different story.
btw, sorry for going way off topic in this thread.

Yeah, don't slip the clutch while giving gas. Check this thread: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/dodge-v...to-launch.html
brake boosting is when you hold the brakes, let out the clutch a little to place a load on the engine, than you can start building slight boost. i would not do it on the line because it would fry your clutch, but it works well on races from a roll when the clutch is fully engaged.

best way to launch a manual is a really quick feather. or if you have the power and correct traction, dump it.
honestly, if you hadn't all figured it out, i never have driven an awd car. i only read about what other guys do. i have read the people that dump, feather, brake boost even on a manual, etc, etc.
i have driven/owned a turbo fwd drive car, but that is a whole different animal all together. i never needed to brake boost since it was a quick spooling turbo; 2600 rpm for 18 lbs to be exact.
