Default good price to offer

Currently looking into buying a 2002 Dodge Ram quad cab 4x4 with about 86000 miles on it..it has the 5.9 360 in it...it's fully loaded and it was a grandma truck ..my gram has owned it since new and just recently bought a 2009..so i have to wait 6-8 weeks because she ordered it.

now my question is what do you guys think this truck is worth and what should her...actually what is the highest you guys would pay for the truck...i know for a fact that it's in perfect condition running wise and the interior is emaculate..the exterior has a couple small scratches but can be buffed out...

i'll try and get some pics of the truck but i'm down at school now so i'll try when i go home next weekend.

I found an 06 2500 here for 10K it has over 100K miles but its a fully loaded quad cab with a 5.7 .

but I digress.

I would say don't low ball a family member but you want a good deal also. I hate dealing with money matters with family members, so just ask her to give it to ya for free. Tell her you will mow the lawn or rake leaves and clean out the gutters for a couple of years. Or are there other grand children involved that will get jealous if you get a free truck? Or your aunts and uncles getting mad because you took advantage of their mother? That will just ruin Thanksgiving and Christmas get togethers because of all the tension in the air, oh I could go on and on. See what I mean???

i have the same truck and it had the same mileage when i bought it, i paid $11,500 but i got a 2 year warrenty and gap insurance and owed too much on my trade-in. i think i got a good deal, love my truck!!
it also depends where you live. i live in a rural area where there is nothing but trucks, but if you go up to st.louis the trucks arent worth as much, say i traded in my truck right now, i might get say 9000, but in stlouis i would only get maybe 7500........

Sounds like you have an opportunity to get yourself a nice truck, that you know the history of; thats rare in its self. This is what I would do, but this is just me and MY family, I dont know how your family is.

I would tell G-ma what the trucks are going for, and what you were thinking of offering her, however knowing the history of the truck and because its family, your willing to pay more if it will help her get her new truck. If this is your first truck, you can say this too; your first truck, and you are willing to pay what she wants, but you dont want to mess yourself up financially, in case you have to sell it in the future.

I dont know, It would work in my family. No hitch, no hard feelings, and i would have a great deal on a great truck.

TALON... TRUCK IS LOOKING GOOD MAN. those wheels and tires did the trick...
