That actually looks very good, However you might want to do something to Isolate the filter from the rest of the engine bay, You might actually gain a few extra horses if you do that.

it sucks that the air going in is usually 90 - 100 degrees , too bad there is no kinda cheap , minor setup to where you can get a real cool 30 -40 degrees all the time (of course without forced induction setups) !

Well, you'd only get 30-40 degree air in the winter no matter where the intake was drawing air from. Even if the intake was outside the vehicle it would still draw in ambient air.

I have heard from a lot of guys that it doesn't matter that the filter isn't isolated as once you are moving plenty of cool air is flowing through the engine bay anyway.

I dont know about the truck, as mine isn't boxed either.
However, I had a galant that I put a CAI on, At first I didn't have a box around it, I did notice a increase in power, But one day I decided to put an isolation box and tube going outside, I definitly noticed an big increase in power even over what I had. When I sold it I put the stock setup back and all and noticed an immediate and drastic reduction in power.

It is funny you should say that, because I had to fabricate a shroud because I took the wheel wells out of the front of the truck. I made the shroud to keep from sucking up a slug of water....

It also lets everyone look at my headers...

I also plan on building my own rather that spend 300+ on one. What size pipe to what size rubber boots and how many. I'm kinda wanting a part list. lol but its a nice set up there. Did it mess with any sensors or codes???

That's what I want. I already have the K&N drop-in filter.
