That sucks. So, im not going to laugh and point the finger because i know what was going through you head when it broke. I think all of us probably have had that oh sh** moment while working on our trucks.

Before I dropped my pan and changed my fluid I went to Lowes and bought all new and a higher grade bolts and when I put them in I didnt break not one and had no leaks. So I would certainly look for better hardware to use.

if you want a good aftermarket pan with a drain plug, thats also a deep pan which is great, I have that same deep pan on my pickup.

Wow, some Deja vu here! I remember reading this back in march, then read it again and said to myself " Geeze, this guy has alot of bad luck when dealing with fluids!" then saw the date..lol

Hey man - stuff happens! I once was changing the oil on a Sunday afternoon and I stripped out the drain plug....

Back then, you were hard pressed to find anyone open after 5:00pm on a Sunday! I was able to buy a Neoprene oil plug believe it or not and it held pretty good.

It was definitely one of those "Oh ****" moments!! LOL

Wow. Im such dummy. I didnt even check to see the date it was originally posted. I just saw that it was at the top, so i figured it was recent. Hummmmm, so, im guessing in the past 6 months, your problem is fixed.

yeah, everything turned out great. got a drain plug put in the pan too.
