That all depends. They are building mine right now. Should be finished next week. There will be a Cummins Turbo Diesel in it so I can pull a 34 foot trailer. We're going to see this wonderful country of ours.
Don't forget the Megacab has the same wheelbase at the Quad Cab with a long bed.
Happy trails,
Bill B. (Michigan)
I picked up a Laramie Megacab 1500 last weekend.
Drives the same as a buddies 03 quadcab long bed.
(ya you need that much room to turn it around)
I wasn't really sold on the looks of the thing or the size.
Was seriously considering an 05 F250 crew cab short bed.
Take the whole family camping and fishing while towing a 21' boat.
The 1500 (laughs) 8 lug wheels full floating rear axle (its a 2500 with lighter springs)
drives and rides nice even in town.
The looks are growing on me just like they did when I bought my 02
But the space inside is why I bought the truck.
I'm 6'5 and can sit in the back comfortably.
My buddies are gonna love it on those 200 mile drives to great snow in the winter.
The Hemi seems to have plenty of pulling power (8300 towning with tow package)
I don't usually tow more than 4000.
And the 1500 has 1970 lb payload capacity. I can just throw in some air bags and add a camper.
Should be a good rig for what I use it for. Jury still out on whether I will like it as much as my 02.
Although the Laramie is a lot nicer inside than my old ST.

Have to agree with Wooosh above, don't knock something 'til you see. I was all set to buy a new '06 QC LB 'til I drove the Mega (drove the QC first) There is no comparison in room. I work in the oil field and sleep in the truck often. I need the bed to haul my equipment and I can stretch my 6'2" body diagonally across the back with the seats down. The other Fords/Chevy's that the other guys use don't compare. I think the new lights are more in proportion with the large grille than the prev ones, but that's just my opinion...

I love my mega cab it is great. I bought it back in June, 2500 5.9L Cummings and have put about 2700 miles on it. The only thing I wish was different was the front end. Other than that it is great. Nice ride, handles good off road (have not tested on anything extreme). Oh and by the way I was t-bonded of over 65 MPH and walked away with a sprained ankle. And a new frame as well. So, go down and look at one before you judge.
I looked at one... and was a little upset that I lost that much of my life to looking at something so hideous. They're sick! If they came with bigger tires and looked just a little more proportional, then maybe, but it looks completely alien! Like the little cartoon characters that have an over-sized brain. No proportion. I'll stick to my QC... And whoosh, you're an idiot. Do the world a favor and find the tallest building you can, ride the elevator to the roof, walk to the edge, jump. This is where we normal people come to express our opinions, and I don't need a half breed like yourself (judging by your language) to tell me my opinion is wrong. I've fough for America and I'll do it again if they ask me to, to preserve my freedom and way of life. You don't like it, buy a plane ticket you ***-wipe.
Okay **** head..... Before you start to talk about fighting for freedom, make sure that the person on the other end has not.................... I am in the service and have been to **** holes...... I do not care if you like them or not. I posted that I like them. Most of the people here have not seen one. Other than that you can jump of a build.
well, ok. other than dirtydodge being a total dick, the truck is nice. i mean, i bought the 3.7L v6 quad cab. i'm only a college student and didnt have the cash to upgrade to the hemi. i really love the truck. yes the front isnt the best looking, buyt after a while, you get used to it and start to like it. i like how much room the 2006's have over the older models. and like a couple said before, dont just what you haven't tried yet. once you sit in the 2006 and see how you like it, then talk. but, ik am dissapointed by the gas mileage of the v6. the hemi's get better mpg. my mom and i are about to upgrade the '06 v6 to a hemi.
I have a 2006 QC Hemi and I really like the Mega Cabs. I didn't need that much room so I went with the QC but there are times when I wish I had that extra room. Some of the guys don't fit too well in the back of the QC. That being said, I'm 6'8 and have the driver's seat quite far back and I really only have people in the back once in a while.
It does look a little disproportionate but I still think it looks great. Still better than its Ford and certainly better than its Chevy counterparts.
The more I read the more I'm glad I got the hemi. Not great on gas but apparently better than the V6 models!

The Mega Cab looks awesome, although I must admit it needed larger tires to make it proportional. Let's just say the extra cab room, swayed this Ford man to the Dodge Domain. I rode in my buddies 3500 Cummins Mega Cab on a road trip and fell in love with the truck. Towed like no ones business. Needless to say scored my own 1500 4x4 Mega Cab this past Weekend.
Parking is a biscuit though and I tend to park at the end of the parking lot which is normal for me anyways with my cars. Getting in my driveways a bear though as we live in a gated community and the streets are narrow, not good with this things turning radius.
