Default opinion on exhaust

First off this is when i finally get the truck..which should be in about a month...those of you that don't know my grandmother bought a 2009 ram and she is selling me her 2002 ram thats fully loaded with 5.9 v8.

now my question is i was thinking about getting the flowmaster super 44 si/do muffler and i was wondering if anybody had this muffler and what they thought of it.. i know there are some of you that have the flowmaster super 40 (i believe) can you tell me the difference between the two?

thanks

The difference is one sucks a little more than the other.

They're both raspy, restrictive, and flow on par with the stock muffler.

If you want the sound, then go for it. The 44 will be louder.

If you want performance, run far far away from Flowmaster.

Borla is the best build, quality, and flow.

I personally run a Moroso spiral flow, but only run a single exit.

You could use Borla, Bassani, Magnaflow, Flowtech, Cherry Bomb, Hooker, etc.

Flowmasters, fake flow masters, and most chambered mufflers flow horribly.

The super 44 is louder than the super 40. I've got my exhaust running through a super 40 when my cutout is closed. It isn't all that loud.

In your situation, you might want to try a different muffler, that would be the easiest thing to change to try to get a different tone.

si/so? Prime candidate for a glasspack! Cherry Bomb makes a good one, cheap, great flow (obviosly, it's a straight shot) and that classic "disturbing the peace" sound!!!
