Default Do 2" level lifts need new shocks??

I have a 07 black 1500 2wd reg cab and i want it level like most. i see alot of people putting new longer shocks on with their level lift. do i need to. i know shocks arent that expensive so its not a big deal but the money does all add up. and i need some 285 tires soon too. haha. thanks for the help!

you dont NEED them, but it would be a wise investment as the stock ones wont have much play

That's why your first drive with the kit installed should be over to get an alignment. Do you have a rwd or 4X4?

With every height adjustment you make, your going to have a chance of messing something up. Reason being, your adjusting the original geometry of the vehicle. Longer shocks and an alignment will greatly reduce those odds. Many of us, 4WD and 2WD are running leveling kits with longer shocks, ad are having no issues. Since your truck is 2WD, there is even less chance of you running into problems; less components. You will be ok. Remember, you get what you put into it.

I have a 07 rc 2WD, and just put my level on, and I couldn't be happier! but you don't "need" the new shocks, just it's better to get new longer ones to compensate for the lift for a better ride. Not to toot my own horn, im just too proud of my kit! haha

I agree with everyone else. You don't need them but it would be a sound investment.
