Agreed, many have their favorites, but I've never seen a bad "brand" of gears, just really **** poor installs... I got Genuine's but mainly because of the Lifetime Warranty...

 

Exactly. A R&P is only as good as the install.

My favorite convo is always asking how many shims they used, what was the backlash and the preload, followed by a blank stare.

 

Im liking the sound of the lifetime warranty. Seems like that might come in handy.

 

A ring and pinion will not go bad or break until you put over 1000hp to it.

Anything under that is caused by bearing failure, which will do things you couldn't image to a rear.

I had a carrier bearing go bad in a Corporate rear. It took 5 thou off the carrier end, took out the other carrier bearing, and broke about 10 teeth off the R&P.
