Default Electric Brakes with Factory tow pkg

With the OE tow pkg on an '06 1500, should you get any current to the electric brake pin connector(blue wire) with brakes applied; OR do you need a brake controller hooked into the system? All other pins on the 7 point connector have proper signal.

Thanks

You need a brake controller unit in order for the electric brakes to receive any signal. Tow package trucks are wired for the brake controllers but must use the brake controller for that function. I bought the prodigy P3 from here. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/P3-Br...Q5fAccessories
Best price around and a Damn good controller too.

You also need the harness that plugs in under the dash that wires into the controller, if you get a different brand that does not come with the OEM harness. I got mine for about $14 at the dealer. It plugs in above the e-brake under the dash.
