Default Anti-spin is NOT an LSD... Right??

I am planning on changing my diff fluids over to royal purple. I am 99% sure I dont have a limited slip rear because with one tire on ice, and the other on pavement it only spins the one on the ice. If i hold the brakes, it will spin both, and if both have even traction it will spin both... so I am asuming it doesnt have a lsd.
I looked in the glove box and on the sticker it said something like this:
gear ratio: 3.92
rear axle: corporate 9
rear differential: anti spin

So what is an "anti-spin"?? And do I need a friction additive with it?

Also, is the 3.92 a lower/towing gear or is that the standard ratio?

thanks

anti-spin is a lsd, limited slip differential, same thing just a different name.

Casper is correct, you have a LSD, the reason it doesn't work the way you think it should is that the AAM LSD is just a sorry POS...

so how come it only spins one tire on ice?? is it really that big of a pile?

i was told the stock LSD is a torque-activated LSd. meaning it's only an LSD is very specific conditions.

that said, even with 160K miles, you can still hear/feel the tire chatter in turns on our hemi.

The "Chrysler Corporate" and AAM axles/differentials are one and the same...

so if the clips fall out, how much damage do they do?

magnet- you said you have 160000 miles on your lsd, have you ever had any problems with it? i never hear mine chatter...

should i wait for this thing to crap out, or change it now?

I wish I hadnt asked if it was an lsd... now Im always going to be worrying about it...

Wait a minute -- "...one wheel on ice, the other on dry pavement, it spins the wheel on ice..." is a peg-leg. If I put one rear wheel on wet grass (not much ice here in Florida) and the other on dry pavement, the truck goes.

It's my dad's truck (i drive the Dako), but we've only had the lube changed...no actual servicing. Like i said, on the loose-surface roads, you can hear the inside wheel chatter-spin like it's locked up with the outer.
