In-Dash Video for 07 PROBLEM
I have a new clarion in-dash (flip out type) cant remember the model. But I know half of you guys have in-dashes also, and maybe one of you know what my problem is.
As I was leaving autozone (coincidence maybe?) when I started it up, the screen goes white? I can still touch the screen (if you remember the placement of the buttons) and it will work but tried resetting it, unhooked power, everything. No worky.
Any of you have an answer or idea?

Has nothing to do with what vehicle the unit is placed in. It sounds like the unit has a loose connection internally and is causing the graphics to go out on the screen.
My Pioneer can be updated with new software. Can your Alpine do that? Try downloading the software again or bring it back to where you got it.

you know, I thought clarion was supposed to be a topshelf brand. I just got my head unit almost 2 weeks ago. I got a hellova deal on it, $350. It was selling for $799!!!!!!!!!! Its the fancy touchscreen, built in "music catcher" (mp3), yada yada. 24hrs after having it, it wouldnt spit the cd out. Just clicked a lot. Turns out, whatever that piece is that spits out the cd, broke. I listened to the same cd for a week, before I had to send it off for repari (warranty of course). All I gotta say is thank goodness I didnt pay that $800, Id be a mad mf'er.
OP, sorry about my rant. I really have no clue what your prob could be, besides what dirty stated. And he's probably right, usually is Hope you figure it out.....
BTW.... i dont have the screen, just the 'regular' head unit.

Has nothing to do with wiring if you're getting a white screen (unless the main cable came unplugged which is rare for any sort of auto head unit)...if the screen was black then it would be.
I agree with dirtydog about the updating thing but Im not remembering clarion having updates?!?
I would send it back as defective and get a replacement if at all possible...sounds like the Crystals are bad in your screen
(happens more often than you think)
Edit* could also be the motherboard...which would also require you to replace it
