Default Magnaflow Exhaust

Hey guys, this may sound like a dumb question but im still learning about my truck. About 3 months ago i put on a Magnaflow dual exhaust which is supposed to be stainless but the other day when i was under the truck putting a hose clamp on my power steering pump i looked around at the new exhaust and there are spots of rust on the pipes. Is this normal or not?

Might not of been stainless...they do sell aluminized too. How much was your catback?

Hmm.... and you bought a whole catback setup from Magnaflow? Or is the rust on factory pipes?

I'd take a picture and send it to Magnaflow and see what they say.

i bought a catback setup from a local truck shop and was given the part numbers of the magnaflow stainleses catback. I know its a magnaflow at least because the muffler says it, but i dont know that they didnt switch the tubing out on me thinkin a young kid wouldnt catch it. and its the pipes from the muffler over the axle to the tips that have the spots

If there's rust on the pipes they're not stainless...especially after 3 months. Sounds like you bought a stainless muffler and over paid for aluminized pipes and install.

Take the truck to the shop and point it out to them. Ask them how stainless steel has rust on it and see what they say.
