how did you wire the tweeters? do you just splice in to the door speakers?

That's what a military school education will teach ya
OP:
Try cleaning the dull area with fingernail polish remover. It won't hurt anything -- I use it to remove superglue from laptops all the time.

ok first of all.. all i drink my vodka with is either pepsi or mt dew... its just dam good ya know
and as for the speakers, its a whole mtx thunder 6000 component system, which includes
2 front door speakers,
2 front satalite tweeters,
2 rear door speakers with integrated tweeters.
4 crossover modules
i had to bypass the infinity amp, hooked up everything up direct to my kenwood h/u.
so i basically ran all new wire for all the speakers, but did it all professional-like a spliced into the wiring harness( was a total pita) but everything looks oem for the most part.
i had the satalite tweeters behind the door panel and it just didnt sound good enough and finally got tired of it, so decided to put them in the door panel, sounds much better.
now all i need is a sub box......
