Default Cold Air Intakes

I'm checking out intake options but I'm a little shy...Can anyone tell me the major differences in these two:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/K-N-C...Q5fAccessories

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-05...Q5fAccessories

Besides the fact that one is $30 and the other is $320...Thanks ahead of time!

One gets rid of the hemi hat, which many people say is restrictive. Check out www.autoanything.com
They have a good selection of intakes at decent prices and you can google and find some coupons for their site too. www.airram.com is a site sponsor and I got my intake from them. I got the spectre which is an AEM brute force/mopar clone.

Shoulda known a fellow Silver Truck Club member would be the most helpful! Is it really worth $300 more?

Yea, we stick together. The spectre is a decent price and trueflow makes a good system if you want to keep the stock air box, but get rid of the hemi hat. The true flow systems are only like 150 on amazon and the spectre is about that price too. Here is a link to the true flow http://www.amazon.com/True-Flow-3050...8387828&sr=8-1
for your truck, I changed my filter to a true flow b/c they are supposed to filter better than oiled cotton and can hold a lot more dirt while still giving good airflow. Let me know what you get and how you like it.

Yea he has a v6 though

If you're willing to pay $300+ on a k&n just get a BFI...if you want to go cheap then just make your own. There's several guys on here that have done it and they're way better than those ebay ones.

You are correct about the v6 thing that is. Depending on where you live don't you need your intake to be carb exempt to pass emissions? Making your own could cause a problem there.

Just make your own for $40 like me. I'm actually in the proses of mine just 4 inch PVC pipe with dual filters and remove the Hemi hat.

DO NOT do the $30 one...i bought it with a K&N filter and its junk man....its very cheap and the couplers dont seal completely. I would go with the Spectre mentioned above. i have installed 2 of those for friends and they are very nicely made and thats the one ill be going with. But probably with one of the new AEM filters thats not the dyed kind like K&N
