You are correct. All the 9.25 LSD's are the same even going back further in years than '06 as well as the current '09s
Well yeah I know that. Abarmby's is an 03!

Since you have an 08, your rear diff isn't immune to clip failure either then.

It's seeing threads like this that actually make me HAPPY that I couldn't find a truck on the lot outfitted with an LSD from the factory.

And to think... I used to be pissed about it.

To my knowledge they did not fully inspect the unit. They pulled the passenger side bearing cap to remove the clip wedged against it and flushed the system. Well hell, I could have dont that myself and not been back on the road the next day. My truck has been down there since Monday morning and today is Thurs. Thats not what is so bad for me but rather flushing all the abrasive metallic material out of a contaminated system and wanting to send it back on the road. God forbid but if I had shavings in my engine oil, would they do they same? Whats the difference between the two systems? They are both mechanical with moving parts and lubrication. So needless to say I am not happy with the dealer.
Keep at them bud. Your 100% right!
If there was shavings or sparklies in the oil, no amount of flushing will get rid of the remnants left behind????
What kind of damage has this stuff done to the rest of the seals and bearings????
Have you seen the nooks and crannies in a diff where all this stuff can hide?
No amount of flushing will get rid of it all without a COMPLETE stip down of the entire axle. How can it?
I have done all this to my diff and believe me, no simple quick flush will sort it.
I think if they have found this kind of damage in your diff, it's disgusting to try and palm you off the way they are trying to.
Let them know your no mechanical idiot and that your unsatisfied with their approach and ask for this Dodge rep they contacted about this problem, to come and inspect it while your there, as I don't even believe the dealership have contacted him????
Your truck will be off the road a while longer but hey, it will be fixed correctly if you dig your heels in.
Hope you get a result mate.
Best of luck.
Al.

PS post up what they intend to do please. We will support you.

If that Q is directed to me I can tell you they said the Chrystler Rep denied the warranty rebuild and so they would only flush it. I have been composing a letter to Chrystler Corp about it. I spoke with a Chrystler tech on another board and he said to take it to another dealer and tell them the other dealer refused to do the quality work on it.

Sorry weedahoe.

Yes it was.
I'm glad your sticking with this and writing your displeasure to Chrysler.
I don't know what will happen, but at least you will feel better by getting all this off your chest.
I personally think you have been treated disgracefully!
I hope you get a complete rebuild with the second dealership soon.
Best of luck and keep up the fight.
Remember................you are right, that rear needs a complete rebuild and NOTHING else!
Al.

My entire hang up on this is that I realize nothing is wrong with it right now. But I still have a sample of the original oil that came out of the rear and believe me, there was ALOT of metal in that oil. So with that liquid abrasive material come issues. Like I said before, if my engine or tranny oil has that much metal in it, would they still flush and give back to the customer? I certainly hope not!!
