Some Basic Questions
I'm approaching 30,000 miles so starting to think about changing the plugs. Absolutely stupid that plugs only lasts 30K but I guess that's the nature of the beast. I will probably go with platinum plugs unless they are going to destroy my engine. Anyone know of any solid reason not to use platinum? Right now I am running the Bosch +4s in my Land Rover which is the pickiest engine on earth and they are working great so thinking of staying with Bosch.
Does the 2007 with MDS still use the wires going to the opposite cylinder bank? I looked last time I was under the hood and didn't see anything resembling a plug wire coming off any of the coils. I'm assuming that both plugs for a particular cylinder are down through the valve cover under the coil, am I correct?
Is there a repair manual available for download for the Dodge trucks? I have the Haynes manual but it doesn't go in to enough detail on some things. I have a complete workshop manual in PDF form for my Land Rover and was hoping to find the same thing for the Dodge.

No your 07 doesn't have plug wires and yes both plugs are under the coils...06+ have the same style ignition as the 6.1 hemi.
Not sure about the manual..
Thanks for the help. By looking at the engine the only thing my brain could figure out was that both plugs were under the coil but wanted to find out for sure. The Haynes manual I have was obviously written before they change the ignition system in 06.
if i were you i would search on hear about plugs ... allot of us run the factory champion copper plugs because the fact they recomend changed every 30k and there cheap

My '03 went about 86K before the plugs were replaced. I put in NGK 5306s. $1.80 ea at AA. Platinums are a waste due to the service interval.
There are PDF versions of the entire factory repair manuals out there. I got mine off a site that had them all on there but Dodge shut that guy down. If you do some searches on different boards you can still find places where the manuals are available.
