I read a short while ago that someone had installed a hydrogen generator on their truck. Has anyone else done this? Made one or bought one? I would like to make one if anyone has any information. Thanks!

they actually did a test on this on Dateline the other night. A "professionally" installed system did absolutely nothing mileage wise. All the tests were done by a EPA agency and everything, so it was legit. Its pure BS, as stated previously. Great way to trick people out of their money while GM is spending billions to get just a few MPG.

How much power do they require? I thought it was just a 12v wire thats powered off the ignition? It seems like it should work... Just be expensive to have enough plates to create a ton of H2 that a v8 would requireOriginally Posted by Joel_MD
Those are pure BS. It takes more energy to generate H2 than you would get from burning it.

12V isn't "power". With voltage being constant, power is determined by current (amps). It takes more amps to bust the hydrogen out than you get from burning the hydrogen.Originally Posted by moosefire66

Conversation of Energy states, essentially, that you can't get more out of a system than you put into it. The power to generate the hydrogen doesn't just come from the battery, the battery is kept charged by the alternator, which gets its power from the engine...
If this wasn't the case, pure-hydrogen powered vehicles would be a reality now.
