Wind Noise Issue SOLVED

Bending won't hurt anything. It's been done in the autobody industry for years on all sorts of makes and models. The doors on our trucks will actually bend out over time from being opened and closed anyways, no thanks to the light metal they are manufactured out of...flimsy and cheap. I did the catch plate thing too and it helped out a little bit, but it was nowhere near as quiet as it is now.

Mine has really been bothering me...although I'm kinda OCD anyway. I tried pulling in the doors to quiet the noise, but it just made the panels uneven...not a good look. Needless to say, I'm having all my door seals replaced tomorrow by the body shop. The seals on there now look very "flattened". They seem like they should be a little "plumper". The doors seem like they shut pretty hard also...you know with no cushiony feel to them. Oh, well. If this doesnt work, you can bet I'm gonna be bending the crap out of my doors tomorrow afternoon! haha. later.

It doesn't hurt anything to bend the doors. If you were to fit doors to a vehicle, this is just part of making adjustments. The problem you have is the body lines still need to line up. if you bend the doors to tighten up the door seals...the body lines may not look good. You have to look and see how much bending may be done. it usually doesn't take much. Alot of times the doors may fit good at the striker, but the tops will be "out" a bit. This is what causes wind noise.

I had the door seals replaced, like I said. It seemed to help a good deal but not 100%. I'm going to try to maybe bend the window frame, but not sure of the best way. I can get my knee up there and yank on it but then I can really measure how much I am bending, if any. I do have a porta-power puller ram thing and I was thinking on how I might be able to rig it up to gently bend it with even pressure. Any ideas? I'll you all know if I figure something out.

make sure you roll your window down first. put ur foot just above the grab handle, grab the top of the door, and give it a good firm tug. that's it. i wouldn't go crazy on it, take it a little at a time and try it out each time (drive on a windy day). sooner or later you'll tug it just enough.
i did my driver side door, gotta do the passenger still.
