There are reall only 2 ways for your engine to go at 55kmi. Not changing plugs or bad/no oil! My brother in law ran his F-150 with an inline six cylinder for 70kmi with just adding oil. It still ran by the time I got a hold of it but the oil was like syrup.

Where did you buy your engine from? Was it from a Ram pick-up? Have you changed the CPS already and still same troubles? Do you even have the CPS hooked up? I would go over the basics again.

Hi there, you have a situation on your hands man...... first thing is first did you make sure absoltuely 100% that the tone rings are the same?? in 02 they had two types one was 16 teeth and the other was 24 teeth....... then engine you heard running was probably a 16 tooth ring on the crank as well as the cam. pull off the right valve cover and count the windows on the cam shaft if its 16 then the crank will be 16 as well and on your old motor which you said was a 2003 will be 24 tooth ring, your pcm has no idea where the number one cylinder is thus not being able to fire the spark plugs, i just changed my engine in my 02 4.7 and it was a 16 tooth ring, i hope this helps

How does not changing plugs at 55k ruin an engine? It may not run to its peak but I dont think it will blow. Non maintenance issues destroying an engine at 55k has to be a lubrication, overheating or just beating the living **** out of it...

on the 4.7l engine depending on conditions you might burn a hole through your the top of your piston, due tue incomplete burns in the chamber from a fouled spark plug, a chunk of unburnt carbonized fuel deposit may end up on the top of the piston and if this happens enough it will burn a hole straight through. on the 4.7l engine dodge mechanics recommend no more than 60,000km between tune ups

in maintenance i mean oil people before me did not keep up with oil changes and had a lot of sludge and when i got it had no oil pressure so i cleaned out the pickup and changed oil pan gasket ran two engine flushes with gum out and got oil pressure back but three cylinders ended up having low compression on the drivers side so instead or repairing the motor i came a cross another engine when they are kinda hard to find them for less 1500 so i jumped on it and brought 02 engine but that does not work either no start ignition system
