Default need help, truck not driven in almost 2yrs!

Hello, I have finally got the estate settled and inherited my dads truck. couldve sent it to auction or kept it... haha anyways, it is an 04 2500 quad cab 5.7 hemi 4x4 offroad, towing pkg's ... it hasnt been driven since about october of 2007. I am going to pick it up from deleware on may2. What should i do to ensure i will do no damage? my dad always talked about putting true duals on but just never got around to it. id love to, so any hints on where to look for the setup would be much appreciated. thanks in advance, tom.

shes going to need some fluid changes, engine oil, check to see if she's got plenty of diff fluid, tranny fluid, power steering, brakes. coolant. check the tires if its been sitting they probably got a flat spot in them

Complete fluid change- oil, tranny, both diffs, tcase, coolant. Pull the spark plugs and squirt some marvel mystery oil in the cylinder, then let it sit overnight to break the rings free. In the morning, pull the fuse for the fuel pump and let the engine crank over for a bit with out starting.

+2 on the fuel pump fuse. Nice catch... man froggy, your hitting all the good notes lately. We're going to have to step up our game if we want to keep up with you!

Your brake pistons in the calipers may well be siezed in their housings???
Also, the e-brake if applied might be siezed on???
Make sure your brakes are OK!
+3 on the prime engine with Mystery oil and then a spin up without firing, to make sure a lot of oil gets sprayed around where it hasn't been, for like 2yrs or so.

Good ideas guys! Also, if there was gas left in it, you will want to drain and dispose of it, and refuel.

With all things considered, you bring this thing out of retirement the right way, you will have a fun, long-lasting way to enjoy your fathers legacy.

Yep, drain the tank and fuel lines. Hope it's not varnish. Was a fuel stabilizer put in when it was parked?

Just whatever you do, DON'T PUT THE PLUGS BACK IN WITH THE MARVEL MYSTERY OIL STILL IN THERE! Spin it up without the plugs in to prevent hydraulic lock. Some of the excess oil will squirt out of the spark plug holes. After you've spun it a few times, let it sit again, then put the plugs in.

okay, so it is home with me! new battery, changed oil, fuel, and filters... going to do rest of fluids here at my place. Ran like a champ, only thing I noticed was, when coming to a stop from anything over 35mph, there is a slight knock it sounds to be coming from the rear. i honestly thought it was something in the bed because it would only knock once or twice when coming to a stop, but... the bed was empty. (covered so i did not know.) Anyone have any ideas?!
