Exclamation Sub Box Problem

Ok I have a new probox for my truck. I have posted on a few other threads but no answer.

The box fits in fine, but once in, it rocks back and forth (front to back) if the seat is down, the front of the box is 1/2" off of the ledge. If the front of the box is pushed down, the rear of the box comes up about an inch off of the floor. If fit my friends 07 QCSB without this and won't fit my 07 QCSB? I do not know what to do

was your or his truck ever in an accident? also factory variations in the carpet are to be expected. (i.e. there may be a big glob of glue some where) try putting in some shims in the problem areas, and if that doesn't work go to your local hardware store and grab some self tapping sheet metal screws and crank it down! good luck.

When I had my Probox in my 04 C it fit very tight and was hell to actually push all the way down. Are you sure yours is pushed all the way down? If so then you can co like the FoxBox and drill a 1/4'' hole in the bottom and secure it to the bottom of the truck using a self tapping or bolt and nut

I seen a guy on another forum use 1/2" tall channel iron and painted it black. Or it might have been this board, hell I dont remember where but he did it.

I went the easy and cheap route when raising my seat. I got longer bolts and some 1/2 inch thick nuts that were big enough for the bolts to slide through. Then I stacked them and used as spacers. I think if I were to do it again, I would use some square tubing and drill some holes in it, but this works for now.

ha it looks like that would wobble a little bit, I was wondering if the bolts are hard to find or if it was a universal pattern?

And the channel iron thing sounds better to me, and it was 04-47 that did that!

by the way, getting those bolts out is a job! they are in very tight, I put all 230# of my body weight and could only get 1/8 turn out of it

Nah, it's actually just as solid as stock. I actually found the bolts at Lowes. They are metric, but I can't remember the exact dimensions of them.

Ok well I went to the local iron scrap shop, got 1x1.5" rectangular aluminum tubing. Its about 1/8" thick. Good thing on it is its got a black finish! Cut four 13" sections, drilled out half inch holes.

Well, its a little odd. There is a weird metal stud sticking out of the outside braces, so you have to cut an extra hole an inch back from the first hole in those. Middle braces are the same length though. The inside two brace's rear bolts have the seatbelts attached. I used the stock bolts on all of the other braces, but these ones with the seatbelts are not long enough. I bought two half inch 3"long bolts today, would not work? I have everything in place and sturdy but will have to find some good bolts for it.

All in all, I love it. Looks clean, seats are about an inch taller! When you do the back seat mod to give you the ability to remove back seats, it lowers your seat to where you can see some of the back sound dampener. This fixed that as well as gave me more room for my subs. I will post pics for a DIY tomorrow
