Default Looking at a 2004 2500

Hey all,

I am new to the forums and am really wanting to get a truck. I found a 2004 QC LB 2500 4X4 with the 5.7 in it. It has 64K miles on it and looks to be in pretty decent shape. I tow a little bit every year, almost 10K lbs so I would prefer to have the 2500. But I am wondering what kind of real world mileage people are getting with these. Right now I have a Jeep GC with the 5.9 in it and I see an average of 12.4 but on the highway it gets up to about 16 or 17. Is that something that is capable in these trucks?

Thanks for the help.

-Jake

I have a 2004 2500. bought it with about the same amount of mileage as the one you are looking at. so far it has been an amazing truck. not any major problems. i was getting fairly decent mileage before i put on the level and bigger tires, but now with those i get 13 or so in the city, and 16ish on the fwy.

Does anyone else have some real world MPG numbers on these trucks?

If you're looking for good MPG's, you'd probably better pass on this truck. 13c / 16h sounds reasonable for an unmodded 2500 Hemi, but I wouldn't expect much more than that...

I too agree. If diesel fuel doesnt stays down, I am deffinetly going to try and pick up a CTD in my next ram.
