Default '05 Ticking Noise

Tomorrow morning, I am returning my dodge ram to the used car dealership to look at the ticking sound I can hear from the engine. Since I've started looking into this, I've heard of many people referring it to the "hemi tick". I have a bumper to bumper warranty with them right now; am I at liberty to say make this tick go away?

That is a tough one. There have been a lot of guys who have had no sucess with getting the Hemi tick fixed by the dealers. BUT, since you did just buy this truck I think that you might have a better chance than most. You have had the truck for how long, a week?

That's correct, I've owned it for 10 days. It's the only flaw I notice on this vehicle. Everything seems to run great, but that ticking sound just doesn't seem very fitting to the condition and mileage of the truck.

Just make sure you go in there knowing what you want as a solution to this problem. If you sound knowledgeable about the problem you will probably have a better chance of reaching a soultion that satisfies you.

When you say knowledgeable, should I just go in there and say, "There appears to be a loud ticking noise prevalent from both sides of the motor, and I would like to have the noise fixed". Just not really sure how to put it. The motor runs great, so they'll probably try to make me look like I'm just being overly ****.

+1, and I even have a tick if I drive my truck when the engine is still cold but once the engine gets to normal temp the tick goes away I don't think anything of it.

I wouldn't even mention the hemi tick to them...they'll probably play along and say it's normal so it can't be fixed. Yours doesn't even sound like the hemi tick....sounds more like a bent pushrod.
