The cigar lighter which I believe is one of the pink w/ yellow striped wires coming off the fuse box under the hood.

I read this thread and would like to add that the Old thunderbird or Lincoln Mark VIII fan is a great fan, moves 4300 cfm. But the controller I used On my F150 was this and it is sweet, ramps the fan up to speed and eliminates all of the high current worries. Little pricey but a great controller (FK35) and with it and the fan my cost was under $160 total. My throttle response was immediate, and I have found the fan hardly comes on except when I run Air conditioning. My mileage around town went up a definate 1mpg....by the way the controller came with all necessary wiring...

that looks pretty good. Did it come with the fuses and relays?

It comes with fuseable link and there isnt any relay, It is solid state and like I said it ramps speed up slowly so there are no current spikes. By the way the wiring and connectors are first class. The wiring was 10 gauge and the install was easy after figuring out where to tap the air conditioner line input and the switched 12volt line input. I have never heard of anyone having a failure with this controller, it is used on Corvette, mustang, muscle cars and is loved by everyone. The seller is a little slow and responding at times, but once you get it you will love it. The temp probe installation is different from all other venders, but I tracked the radiator temp with a infared reader, and as the vender claims the temp stays at what you set it within 2 degrees. No more swings, and the engine runs great without that huge fan on their. Makes maintenance easier to on the Ford, I can actually pull the oil filter from the top. I pull a 6000lb trailer and it works flawlessly with this setup.

Yea lenore I have seen those and almost got one, but just couldn't make myself fork over the cash for one. I believe they are great controllers and have heard many people gush over them for their great features. The e-fan seems to be a great mod for mpg and improved throttle response, and I'll keep updating here w/ my latest mpg until it levels out.

MPG update: Just finished a tank and got 18.6 mpg my best yet. This one had between 150-200 highway miles on it, so that could be the reason, but if I can keep it around 18 when it's around town driving that would be nice.

Nicely done. I plan to do nearly the same thing soon, as I bought a brand new Flex-a-lite on Ebay for $80...just need a relay and switch.

Latest mpg was 18.2 on a tank w/ at least 30 minutes idling when I flushed my coolant system and refilled. The highway miles were about the same on this tank as the last one (150-200). I'm very happy with this mod, if you want more mpg this is probably one of the best mods for your truck's mileage.
