They said that the Instument Cluster was bad and with our trucks you have to replace the entire cluster you cannot just change out the speedo. The Cluster alone is $660 the rest is labor. At this point it is cheaper to leave it and have them repair since they would charge me labor for diagnosing. Also with the cluster being removed the odometer gets replaced so have the dealership do it keeps the truck at actual mileage. Trust me I would love to go to e-bay and get one for $100 bucks but then my truck would be worth nothing. All in all not a good doy for the dodge.

i thought the computer keeps track of the mileage? so you can change out the cluster if you wanted to like these or something

From what I can tell that is just the face. I have to replace the entire cluster which includes the circuit board behind the face. The mileage is stored in the cluster and that is why I hace to have the dealership fix it. If you check out e-bay they have cluster's on there and it will tell you "truck has X miles" and that is what will show up when you plug it in to your truck. I wish it was that easy, I was really wanting to put the gears in, in the next couple of weeks.
