Gear Question
I want to upgrade my gears and was looking for some input. I am running the 5.9 with the upgrades listed in my signature. The truck currently has 3.55's in it and I am thinking on putting 4.11's in. The truck came stock with 17's and I added the 20's. Also I do not plan on running a lift or any bigger tires. I do tow a 4000lb boat on the weekends but the other 90% of the time it is a DD. During the DD time 65%-70% is around town. I was wondering what everyone thinks of my choice of 4.11? Also I found these geras at Moe's and was wondering what everyone thinks of them as well? Thanks for any input.

What is a DTT?
While the 4.11's would be a great improvement over the 3.55's IMO I would go ahead and go with 4.56's while your in there. There are alot of guys on here that have those and they talk like thats one of the best mods they have.
Yeah I know, that is what is making this so difficult to decide on which gears to use. Moe's has the same package in the 4.56 ratio. Most of them though are running 35's with a lift. I think this is one of those six one way half a dozen the other way issues.

Yeah if you never plan on going with bigger tires then the 4.11's will prolly be fine for you. Maybe some of the 4.56 guys will chime in on this to help you decide. Usually something with gear in the title will bring HAMMER out of the wood work like nothing else!lol
we'll just keep bumping this to the top until HAMMER chimes in haha. I have 4.56 and they add a lot of punch for sure. But I think pdavis has the right idea. The 4.11's will add about the same gitty-up with stock tires that the 4.56 do with larger tires. If you do 4.56 with larger tires it's probably gonna be overkill. You're going to start sacrificing mpg's, especially on the highway. Go with the 4.11's. As for the LSD, probably not necessary unless you drive off road or in snow. A lot of guys just put one in at the same time as gears because its cuts on labor costs BIG TIME.
