i've been wanting to do the same thing to my brake lights and 3rd light. Off Road Teacher should be able to chime in with a great explaination of exactly how he did it, cause he just did exactly that.

i have done them before on my old car and a few friends of mine have them, there just like vinyls for like the sides, hood, etc.. except that there less opaque, kinda like tint for the glass, but have a blow dryer or heat gun nearby, cuz depending on if you have stock or aftermarket lights, the curves and shapes can be very tough to completely work, just a little heat will make it much easier, the only bad thing i have found is that if you get cheap stuff as a couple of my friends found out, the sun will kill them very quick, and also keep a receipt on ya, cuz the cops will try to give ya a ticket, so keep that with ya, cuz some are dot street legal, but cheap imports may not be! oh also incase of the cops, lighter colors (aka. anything except like black) the cops will be more likely to leave ya alone! so just some food for thought for ya! hope it helps
