Compared to some of you I overpayed for my truck, but I paid what trucks are roughly going for here.
2003 1500 4x4 QC SLT $14,995. They were asking $16,995. 79K on it then, but it's been fair to me, so I can't really complain about it.
I bought my '03 STD cab SB 4.7 4x2 used a couple of months ago with 97K miles in great shape.Already had tinted windows,Flowmaster duels and 20" factory wheels.I got it for $7300.
wait alpheus!!! You had to do some body work though, right? dirty dog... lol
Sure did, but He asked what I paid for it not what I have into it. I added up all my receipts for what I have into it down to the penny. So far everything I have into the truck including body work and all the mods listed below, I am coming in at $8640 bucks. It has a clean title and still books for way over for what I have into it. I love this truck and feel I made a pretty good investment...
Now as for the stuff that I purchased and waiting to install, add another 3800 bucks to that figure. I cant wait to get this baby standing 8 inches taller...
This is the way I found it. A diamond in the rough...
got mine new off the lot sept. 2006 for just under 23k out the door. i have a 06 quad cab with a 4.7l. the hemi is only about $1000 more brand new so buying used a 4.7/5.7 will go for just about the same price. i personally wouldnt pay more than 15k for a 06-07 and wouldnt pay more than 10-12k for a 02-05 these days. you could probably find a leftover 08 for dirt cheap probably around 20-21k fully loaded. your lucky to get 7-8 for your truck even with all the mods but im sure you can find someone. just tough to sell used these days when new is soo cheap.
In 2008 my father pick up a 2004 st 1500 w/4.7 auto for 7500.00. It had 26,000 when he bought it. I bought it from him six months after he bought it (looking for a down sized truck). I sold my 2002 f250 for $6,000 (not bad for a work truck) and gave pops the same amount he paid for it. Mileage was 34,000, it's now has 49,000.
