how much you buy your 3rd gen for ???
in late january i got my 2006 qc, hemi, power rear window, great shape, new tires (20 inch) with only 27000 miles for 15900. It sat on the lot at litchfield ford for almost an entire year. after i made the deal, the owner told me he bought it at auction for 18k.
i got my 07 ram rcsb in may of 2007. i went on a sunday night after they had a huge sale! and we told them we would take it brand new out the door tax included and everything for 17k. done. it almost felt like stealing. the manager told us they moves so much metal that weekend after the sale that they could afford to take a hit on one to get it off the lot. and he said he was only gonna make like $200 off of it at that price. ha. go figure!
2003, 4.7, Q.C. SLT, tow pkg, 43,000 mi. great condition.
I paid 13,800 for my dodge off a dealer. kinda high but i have less then stellar credit. with the old ford dieing, i was in need. you can do better with good credit or even better with cash.

I got an 02 QC with the 5.9 and 4x4 for $5500. I had to have the trans rebuild but I knew that when I bought it. Trans was $1800 and came with a three year 75,000 mile warranty on it so total cast to me was $7300. Then the modding started and I lost track.
I bought mine July 2008. 2002 1500 SLT 2wd Reg Cab. 39,000 miles (seriously 39k) for $8000. They wanted 11k when I first looked at it, but took less. No problems as a daily driver and tow vehicle on the weekends towing a 2000 lb trailer/car.
I just got my 2003 Laramie for $8000. Quad, leather, infinity sound, K&N intake, rechipped, dual Flowmasters, new tires, etc. I even got a fresh tune-up, oil change, transmission and fuel system flush but I did have to buy the parts and help. I confess though, I cheated and just took over my brothers payments after my Cavalier got totaled.
Depending on where you are though I hear trucks are going cheap...but not so much here in Texas.
