Yeah I saw this on the news. I am just hoping they back our Warranties like the Government said they would. My Truck is out of Warranty but my wives Commander has the lifetime powertrain warranty on it and I hope I don't loose it.

Yep, in another artcile it says that 4/29/09 buyers and current buyer as well as future buyers will keep their warranties. Looks like everyone that bought their trucks or cars last week are screwed! I suppose it's a good idea I leased my truck!!!! I was planning on buying it outright at the end of the term. WHo knows, maybe they;'ll negotiate pretty good with me??? Maybe I'll get a few thousand off of the payoff amount? i would do it then. I want headers and all that jazz. didn't want to touch them if i was under warranty.

It is a shame to see this happening to Chrysler. I read about it earlier and it sounds like all of the warranties will be covered by the government, not just the ones on cars sold from here forward.

Well, weve been waiting for this for awhile now. Here it is.Even though we knew it was coming, we all still seem to be a little shocked. I wonder if people are going to start ditching their dodge trucks and other vehicles now. I wonder what kind of deals there are going to be.

They said that one part of this deal was going to involve closing some dealerships. That might lead to some deals on the vehicles already on the lots of those dealers.

The original was speculated, but there's some loopholes that only time will tell.

Here's one from edmunds that says similar, but doesn't outright say it http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=145212

"The program will cover consumers who buy a new GM or Chrysler vehicle during the restructuring period" Doesn't say that purchases before that will be honored!!!
