Default intake with srt hood

was wondering if any of you guys with the srt-10 hood run the dual filter setup that is on ebay? its cheap and seems like it would make sense to use that in conjunction with the srt10 hood that lets air in right where those filters would mount on top of the engine. not looking to spend alot of $ and those caught my eye on ebay

Im running that intake you are talking about. Some say it does more hot air than cool but when I read my temp numbers with my SC3815 and the only time they went up was at idle. I have cleaned the filters before with a K&N kit and never have had any issues from it.

Weedaho do you have the srt10 hood too? I'd like to get that intake but I'm thinking it would do more bad then good with the stock hood.

It did some with the IAT fitting and a tube that went to the oil fill.

I do have an SRT10 hood. I dont think the hood and intake does anything special. I think if anything the intake does more of a benefit because it does breathe better. The hood is just for looks.

Ive read where the Volant intake does nothing because of the aerodynamics of the SRT10 hood. But I dont have one to try it out with either.

If Im not mistaken, maybe silver can help with this; but the way the SRT hood is designed, doesnt it actually PULL the hot air out, versus sucking air in? For some reason, in the past few weeks I have heard this a few times, and I always thought this too.

I may need correction...

Thats what Ive been told also which is why I never bothered to get the intake for the SRT10 hood. It looks nice and seems practical but I havent heard anything positive about it.

That’s what I have heard as well. And it seems to be true, since the SRT-10's intake is in the same position as in the 5.7 and 4.7. Plus, whenever it rains, my engine stays bone dry.
