Default Help! Help! Help! No throttle response

Hey guys i need help.my 2003 ram 3.7l has a problem and maybe someone has the answer. Sometimes when i give it throttle it has no response unless you go wide open with it.it falls flat on its face, itwill not go and if you let off the throttle it will stall, but it will start right back up.and run fine until it has another one of it's fits.it shows a p0132 code, but i have already changed the sensor.i would appreciate any help.i have taken it to a friend aho owns a garage. He hooked it up and could not find anything wrong.

Welcome aboard my fellow Kentuckian.

Sounds like either a TPS issue or fuel pressure issue.

Yea I was gonna say TPS b/c it sounded like what happened on my old car when the TPS went nuts, but doesn't that usually throw a code?

I have changed the m.a.p. Sensor, the t.p.s. And checked the fuel pressure....no changes.

When was the last time you changed your spark plugs? That or maybe one of the coils, but I think you would get a misfire code or something for those. I guess it could be clogged/dirty injectors.

dirty injectors could very well be the culprit... i had that problem with my 4.7 about 6 monthes ago and i ran 2 tanks of gas with lcas fuel system cleaner through it and I havent had a problem since then... Im not saying thats what our problem is because mine just would get out of her own damn way... well that might be one of your problems...

Do you have a "power wire" hooked up? And how long does it take for the code to reappear?

You know, if you already went through the usual suspects, you might want to take a look at the catalytic converter. My 4.0 wrangler did the same thing, and actually when it was cold, the exhaust would rattle a bit.

It got to the point, to where it was throwing codes, and i couldnt even get up the hill to go to the snow that season. No power.

P0132 reads as: P0132 Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 1) - see our "articles" link for additional help with these generic check engine light codes

So maybe Im wrong, lol

Thats kinda what i was thinking too. Too much back pressure could make it act like that. Check your tailpipe for a potatoe. ha jk. Have you checked the fuel pressure when it was acting up?
