So i am in the process of putting a new radio in my truck. I took the front radio/acheat bezel off and theres an extra wire hook up that is just snapped into the plastic as if it is held there if not needed. Does anyone know what this wire is for? Sorry for the rough description i wasnt able to get a picture up.

Any idea?

 

poss the plug for an ash tray light

 

could be if you have a quad cab, the wire for the shut off pass airbag if you had a reg cab. ... if that makes sense.

 

Nah, my truck is a regular cab.

i got no idea what it could be..

 

it could be the remote wire, there is always an extra wire to hook up an amp to for your subs or extra speakers so if you dont have an amp then thats what its for but if you do have an amp and its hooked up i have no idea

 

If you are facing the bezel, are you talking about the harness to the far right around the hook area? Ive got a 2 or 3 wire harness that connects there but doesnt go to anything.

 

maybe for the upgraded radio.... for the amp.

 

Its not clipped into the bezel itself, its cliped into the dash, you are able to see it when you take off the bezel. It has a clip on the end to plug into somthing.

 

does everything work?

 

No no no guys, I noticed this the other day...it is actually just left in a hole under the left side middle air duct, behind the bezel.

It is for options you donot have. 4x4, power pedals, etc. Unless you have a top of the line all options included truck you will have one of these or both...dont worry, I used the power off of one for interior LEDs!
