You could easily go to an efan for around that same price. As far as the clutch fan, if you can turn the bolt to change your oil, then you can turn the bolt to change your fan.

The only pain getting the clutch fan off is keeping it from turning...cut a piece of 2x4, wedge it in there to keep the fan from spinning when you turn the bolt.

My motto, always make a repair a mod. E-fan frees up some good HP. Easy install, new ones in a box come with a temp probe and adjustable thermostat, everything you need!

$260 for a fan install is a waste. For that money you could buy a nice e-fan and a good controller.

Yeah! What they said! If you got the money to have the stealership replace the clutch fan then I would definatly go E-Fan. I think the Flex-a- lite Fan kit from MOE's is like 280.00 shipped and like HAMMER said it comes with everything you need to install it.

How does a 2x4 keep the fan from spinning? Its a clutch fan. I would like to see how that works...

PS

I dont know your mechanical skills but if you need a dealership to change your fan or even diagnose that problem you may not be ready for an e-fan install. I will send you a perfectly good clutch fan for free if you pay for the shipping. The only hard part about changing the fan is keeping the pulley still while turning the fan nut COUNTER CLOCKWISE. I used a pin spanner wrench that I found on ebay for 8 bucks that worked perfect. I have seen people use a chain and a nut and bolt put through the pin holes on the pulley then wrap the other end of the chain around the sway bar or whatever to keep the pulley still.
