Default metallic clicking noises at high rpm's

2004 Dodge Ram 5.7 Hemi V8

Only just yesterday afternoon getting up on the highway right at about 6000rpms I hear a rapid metallic clicking noise coming from the engine. I only hear it at high rpms and so far there is no noticeable performance lost.

Note the noise went away after being on the road for more then 30 minutes.

6000rpms...I take it you have a tune? Can you datalog to see if you have any knock? The noise could be anything from knock to a loose heat shield...mine makes a clicking noise all the time if it makes you feel any better.

Sounds like a detonation issue. This will burn holes in the pistons if you continue to do so!!
