Default 4wd problem

I am in need of help as well with my 4wd. I have a 04 ram 1500 and when I try to lock in my 4wd the shifter flows back and forth with ease and doesnt lock in 4wd. I crawled under the truck and found the shifter, it has a ?linkage rod? that goes to a ? rubber ring on a bracket into the transfer case. where can I find this rubber ring at online?

This lack of service is NOT just Dodge, or a specific dealership. I find it more and more prevalent, no matter what car company, or dealership. It's Transparent support. They will just blow smoke up ur ****, to get ya to buy, and then make excuses, why they can't help ya, after.

NONE of these car companies stand behind their product.

UPDATE, Truck had been into the shop for shudder/vibration/noise in the front end. They have told me nothing was wrong every time. Warranty just expired in september, Now that the TRUCK is 3 y/o and has 31k on it they tell me I have a bad left front axle and a bed right front wheel bearing! I have paper work stating my problems and them saying " un able to duplicate" I will be calling DODGE on monday and if that does not work I am taking legal action!

I took my 2 1/2" lift off my truck and my vibration went away. What ever happened to making a 4x4 level. They do it on the 3/4 ton 4x4 trucks and the older ones. Is there a reason for a 4x4 truck to sit like a car with back end higher? They need to let me design a truck for them! lol

Dodge said they will pick up the cost of repair minus $100.00 deductible/ If it is out of warranty how do I have a deductible? I am glad I have all of my paper work saved from each trip and how technician writes ( unable to duplicate problem ) two mile test drive then recommends a front end alignment! We will see how it works after the repair!

I have a $50 deductible on my extended warranty. If they can get it fixed, i would pay the $100. Even though they should have done it before out of warranty. My lower right strut bolt won't come off. They have to replace lower control arm and my bad strut $700 bucks with labor. Those front end parts are spendy!

Default Thanks

Thanks everyone for the great info. I recently crashed my 06 1500 SLT and after the shop did $12,000 worth of work to it I noticed this 4x4 shudder. Sent it back, and just like everyone else, the shop said they found nothing wrong.

Looks like I'll pick my battle with the dealership rather than my repair shop... you all saved me a lot of huffing and puffing with the wrong people!

Left front axel right front wheel bearing replaced and a front end alignment., Paid $100.00 deductible. The vibration is not as bad, but still noticeable, I have been unable test if the 4x4 even works because we have had 60 degree weather. I will let you all know how the system works when we have snow. I think it needs both wheel bearing and axel replaced!

My Ram has the Bilstein leveling shocks, and have never had a shudder or vibration while in 4wd or 2wd. In fact the only problem i've had with this truck is an EGR valve go bad on me, but that is to be expected regular maintenace over a long period of time.
