Default Ford 5.4L VS. Ram 5.7L Hemi

So a close buddy of mine has an 08 Expedition and refuses to believe my 04 Ram 1500 QC 4x4 could even come close to him in a 0-60 or 1/4 mile.
So far he has been quiet cocky about it and has even put up some cash.

So I'm interested to know (as I have very little experiance) Would it be benifical to be in 4x4 and have tow/haul on (for added tracktion).

I have no idea how the expedition will compair to the hemi, think he stands a chance?

What do you think???

I would think 4x4 is No unless you are breaking your tires free for an extended period of time. Tow haul might be good as it holds a gear a little longer. Go some place safe and test, I would recomend a track.

I know a million guys with diesel pickups who launch in 4x4 at th track. But all of them have replace all their front end components to ensure it holds up to the abuse. It helps with traction on launch greatly.

As far as being able to beat the expo, dude, you would smoke him. Apparently hes never seen a HEMI run. lol.

don't use 4x4, you might hurt something. you won't even need 4x4. you probably won't even need to brake torque or anything. go make some money

you'll launch just as good with a LSD (well maybe not the stock one) as being in 4 wheel drive. But you got plenty to smoke him without it...

If I was you, I would up whatever the bet is. He really has little if any chance of beating you.
