Help With Eyelids
#61
should i paint the eyelids while they're on the headlight or just do it with them off, cuz i may have the tint guy cut the eyelids out of the vinyl tint and put them on OR leave them off and have my neighbor paint them with the eyelids either on or off the headlights, what do you guys think?

I considered painting the eylids on from the inside of the lense since Im going to have them off to paint the housing black and put on the demon eyes (its gunna look evil).
do you think I would need some type of high temp paint due to the temp in the headlights. Doing it from the inside would save the hassle of clearcoat. What do u guys think.

steve, what are these nightshades you keep mentioning? I had an idea of how to do this, and thought it was a good one. But I havent checked DF in a few days, so I might have missed the boat!
I thought about buying a set of headlight covers, that were clear. Then trimming it down to make upper eyes and lower eyes. Then painting. I thought this would be good because it was made to fit the light, it would sit right on the light, not bulky looking, and they arent too expensive. ($60 or so).
However, if this is what you guys are talking about already, lol, then this is old news. Ive been doing a ton of research on this all, and I think I finally found the setup that Im going to do, including HID's. I should be able to get everything ordered in the next couple of weeks, when I get back from work. Hopefully, I have to clear it with the Boss-lady...
PS... If my idea isnt what you guys are calling nightshades, then what ARE you talking about?

i want to do eyelids on the headlights that should be coming in tomorrow..i would rather have the eyelids painted to match the truck color (patriot blue), but I am hearing it will crack on the vinyl tint so if thats the case should I just do a chrome vinyl for the eye lids since i have some chrome stuff already on there or what type of material should i use for the eye lids?
I'm gonna run down to the tint guy and ask him if the paint will crack on the tinted vinyl
