I saw a 6.1 Hemi for $2500 w/computer the other day on craigslist...isnt there anymore though. That would be a nice addition if I had that much extra lying around the sock drawer.
you know I know this is kinda off subject a little but it goes with the 4.7 vs the hemi, my 05 4.7 seemed to take in a lot more air than my 07 hemi, they both had the k&n 77 series intake and the hemi is quiet and the 4.7 you could really hear it sucking sounded awsome why is it so different
Not that it makes a huge difference, but the 4.7 was 235hp, not 220hp in 2007, so if the newer one is 300hp, they really gained 65 horses. Seems like a more reasonable jump.

The 4.7L was working alot harder to move the truck than the Hemi!!

I hope you figure those numbers to be flywheel and not rwhp, because that's what it will be. Personally, I would drop in a used 5.7L. You can get a low mileage used one off ebay shipped to your door for under $3k
Yeah those numbers were to the flywheel. The nice thing about freeing up the intake and exhuast though is that you get a longer lasting engine that is going to get better mpg's. My 05 4.7 QCSB ram 4x4, with 33'' A/T tires, gets just over 14mpgs with more city vs. highway driving. I am always in town stopping at all of those stupid lights and stop signs. The MPG should make another jump because I just finished installing the True Flow XDI intake last night. It was already increased in mileage vs. stock over the first 70 miles of the tank and I was slamming the gas pedal to hear my new toy roar.
hey lxman, my 05 was a rcsb and it was way louder even on start up, my 07 hemi is a qcsb so don't think the 4.7 was working that hard just seems like the bigger engine would pull more air?
