Hey guys i just hit 30k and im doing the service. I just did the oil change and rear diff today at the dealer and im gonna do the spark plugs this weekend since they wanted 230 bucks to do them well anyway the service guy wrote on my sheet that the next service i need the following. A "Hemi Tuneup" for 229 and a Trans service for 169. is this stuff necessary or is he trying to get me to spend money? I only have 30,200 miles on it right now.

 

no not needed the "hemi tune up" is just air filter and pcv valve not worth payin someone for doing. its cheaper to find the pcv on line. trans service shouldnt be nessicary unless you tow allot. adn dammit bullet dont pay a dealer to do the easy stuff you no how to do ....its like being 20 and still havvin mom whipe your a$$

 

alright well thats what i thought. thats why im doing the spark plugs. im just trying to keep my warranty thats all lol and i wipe my own a$$ lol (big daddy)

 

$230 ain't bad for plug change. Bring your own NGKs and they may come down to $200 even. You're due, although you can probably let the plug change go 'til 40 or 50K. The PCV can stand a few cleanings before it needs replacement.

im doing the plugs this weekend. and for 30 bucks!!! the air filter is fine bc i got a new intake in december. im just wondering about the tranny service

 

Tranny service is a walk in the park compared to the plugs. It's messy, but easy.

 

yea but is it necessary at 33k it doesnt say it in the manual to do it

 

trans fluid makes the difference in the trans so if you want the most life out of your trans i would change the fluid plus it does say to replace it in the 30 60 90 service times

 

NGK plugs ***** on them.... get the oem champs !!!! hell recomended every 30k and a buck a pieace works the best in the hemi
