Angry New truck already broke after 12 hours...

Picked up my 06 last night. Everything was fine. Getting ready to leave this morning backing up and I hear a slapping sound from the engine and the truck started shaking in beat with the sound. Stopped got out, didnt see anything. Started to go forward and it went away. Couldnt get it to do the sound again. Then 5 miles down the road the tach just slams down to 0. It came back on once shot up to 6K and felt like it wanted to shift randomly then went back down to 0. What do you think is up?!? Taking it back tomorrow for them to look at it and getting a loaner for the time being. Really pissed about the whole thing.

Sorry to hear about that. I've been there. I didn't even make it home in my last truck before it broke down after leaving the dealership. I hope everything works out for you.

Sorry my "new" used truck. Everyone on another forum I belong to thinks I should get rid of it because its a precurser. I think I have an idea but we will have to see what the tech says tomorrow.

Default that sucks

my 06 diesel does the same thing when i have my bully dog operational. i have talked to many different builders and bully dog, and edge, and banks and they all say the same thing. the computer program is loading up the fuel. basically at certain times, especially at start up the computer overloads fuel into your engine and it shakes violently. gas engines will do the same thing. my truck will do it at start up and whenever it feels like it. i have hooked up my computer to see what is going on and it is definitely a fuel issue that the computer has a hard time to figure out. i know you just bought it, but somebody could have very easily left the downloaded program on your computer. it sounds stupid but my friend bought an 05 and the previous owner left the extreme bully dog program on it, and his does the same thing. hope that helps, of course it could be a totally wrong scenario.

Well They told when I bought it they had to install a part. I figure that maybe the tech installed the part wrong or didnt do it right and thats what causing it. I just hope its something dumb and not serious. I also hope I get a srt8 challenger as the loaner but I dont see that happening either. HAhaha

Well I called it. Here is my dumb loaner:

This is one reason its in the shop:

Some stuck up bit#$ already made fun of me with the loaner. Sometimes I could just strangle people. The Caliber is a turd. I don't know why anyone would buy one unless they got the srt4.

I would hardly call it "smashed". more like cracked. Looks like a scratch to me.

I wouldn't take a Caliber as a loaner. You bought a truck, they should give you a truck. I use my truck everyday and I need a truck. i would go ape sh*t until they gave me something to pull my trailer with.
