Just for anyone who is curious and finds this thread in the future wondering what the 285/70/17's a 2.5'' level and a 3'' body lift would look like here it is. I thought my tires would look to small but once I got it all done I am happy with it and will wait until my 33's wear out to go to a set of 35's.

Thanks Jason, mine came w/ the 245/70/17's so this was something I was wondering about and I appreciate your input.

Default Nice

It looks pretty bad ***. I personally don't want my tires any larger, I'm going to start adding MPG mods to this gas hog here pretty soon.

Did you put those fender flares on yourself? How much did you spend, and were they a pain in the *** to install?

I think the were like $400 I know 4wheelonline was the cheapest place I could find them. I put them on my self with no problems at all. just 3 factory screws on the front ones and 2 factory screws and 3 or 4 supplied clips on the back ones.

I was disapointed in the way the 3 factory screws held the front ones on so I went to the hardware store and bought 6 new clips and screws that were much better than the stock flat clips on the front(cost like $12 and I thought Bushwacker should have included better hardware)). Now I am very happy with them though.

Those are Matte black from the looks of them? I was looking at a set of four, painted to the factory color of my truck for 300, but they don't have the "bolted-on" look of yours.

Actually, now that I take a second to look at my truck... with all the chrome running around, I'm thinking that a blue/chrome look might be nice. What do you say to chrome fender accents instead of the flares?

If I didnt have the matt black wheels and mirrors then I probably would have painted them to match the truck. I am actually still thinking about painting them when I paint my eyelids but I think they will just get all scratched to ****. They already have a ton of scratches since they are the part of the truck that sticks out the furthest, but my whole truck already has a ton of scratches to match!

If I had your truck I wouldnt think twice and would definatly have to have them color matched for sure. I cant tell for sure from your sig weather I would go with the pocket style(bolt on look) or the regular or not. Pictures are always diffrent then seeing it in person. The pocket style is a much more agressive look and thats what I was looking for.

Also keep in mind that if your tires do NOT stick out beyond your fenders the the truck will look funny from the front and back with the flares sticking out further than the tires.

That is actually a great point... I'm not obsessed with big fat tires, but I drive through a retarded amount of snow throughout the year, so I definately need a nice set of wheels. I'll be going with the 285/70/17's here soon enough, but I'll debate the fender flares after I have them on. Right now, the chrome option is sounding cheaper, and would probably match my ride's personality a little more. Funny, I've never been a huge fan of chrome jobs, but I might be forced into it just to make my truck look more presentable.

I'll throw up some larger pics of my truck to see what you think about the chrome or flares. It has that stock chrome bug shield on the front as well.

Are you going to be using those wheels? If so i would definatly just get the crome wheel opening moldings the flairs will stick out to much and look goofy.
