Default Are those lights under your hood or are you happy to see me?

Hello All-

I have been checking out the site a bit and noticing the hella lights (maybe??) that some are installing under the hood. Looks nice! Is there anything special to know when installing these or is it pretty straight forward? Any suggestions when installing?? Best price on a set of 2 besides eBay??

Thanks JJ

Very easy. When you open the hood, you will see a crossmember across the front. Just drill some holes to mount the lights to, then run some wires to a switch in the cab. Done.

There is a crossmember that you can drill into to mount them. It is best to get the kit because it includes a relay and all of the wiring etc. They do help with the poor lighting on our trucks. I added those and the OEM foglights, and it made a huge difference.

The Hella 500s are a direct beam light so the beam is very concentrated. There are also the Hella 500ffs which are a free form light, meaning it spreads out kind of like your headlights.

eBay is the place to get the Hella 500's. There was a guy on there selling the kit with wiring, relays, switch and lights for $39.99 shipped. You are not going to beat that price anywhere that I have seen. Installation is very easy, just follow the instructions that come with the kit.
