456 are going to help out down low, Truck hemis will seldom see 5000 Rpm anyways.

I'm curious as to what my truck would pull, 373 ltd slip 5.7 6sp, running true duals...
the 456 are not going to help. They take into account all your reductions and gearing with a dyno.

yea, falls flat on its *** 'half way through'...at 5k rpm is pretty good for a motor that size. something like a ramhammer and heads would help there.

solid 10 hp and 15 ftlbs with a cutout, that's more than I was expecting. I might have to get one.

And that's the 87 octane tune...
Let's see some authenticated data to back that one up Hoss.
I'm calling a major BS on that one, I've seen independent dyno's of both. The DSP has a slight HP and Torque advantage, but if you own a model where they still don't support the tranny, the slight gains is NOT enough to overcome the SC.
I'm still in the Diablo if they support your tranny, SC if they don't camp.

Any Diablo reps out there reading this? Cause I have a cam waiting to go in as soon as you support my '04s transmission...

relax big guy, i think he was just playing, mocking (and exaggerating) the claims that some people made.

instead of switching to DSP, just get a type-s sticker, EVERYONE knows that'll give you more hp.

I was actually surprised to see that much of a jump from opening the cutout. Just one more reason for me to always keep mine open.

And the DSP thing I am thinking the same thing as xfeejayx, the guy was just playing. I have had both tuners and there is no 35hp difference between the two.

Yeah the cutout numbers are still confusing me though cause if they are adding 10rwhp/15rwtq then why in the hell are my 0-60 times .38sec slower with it open??

I think it might be time to run it again and see what results you get.

ok i think what i meant was do you think the cutout actually does add 10hp or was it just that it was your second run and the truck did better?

Its even hotter outside now though but I guess I could give it a few runs this weekend and see if Im still getting the lower numbers with the cutout open.

Bullet Im going to have to say I beleive that the 10hp/15ftlb gain was because of the cutout. The truck was already at operating temp when I brought it in and the only difference in the runs was opening the cutout.

no backpressure= loss in torque. Torque is what gets the beast rolling. HP keeps it there. This is the problem with a Dynojet. They don't load the rollers to creat the same "drag" like a Mustang Dyno, so it will give different readings than actual life scenerio's. No load on the rollers means less torque to get going that's prob why your slower in times.
Now some vehicles like 2nd runs better. I know my Mustang loved 2nd runs better than the first. Consistently picked up 5rwhp on the 2nd runs.

As far as the gears go, they just change the torque curve. It makes the torque curve more narrow, that's all. It does not change the output nor give a higher reading.

Tuners are tuners. One canned tune to the next may have a difference 10rwhp but not 35, and Custom Dyno tune to Custom Dyno tune....Your looking at within a 5rwhp difference. That's all.

I also wanted to mention that I used Royal purple's "Purple Ice" in my Mustang and ran a solid 15* cooler on the Dyno and 20* cooler on hot days. I just poured a bottle in my Ram a few eeks ago and my temp guage dropped from the middle of the guage to 3/8's. Here, * is where the pointer is at now.---> C|-----*-M-------|H
For the $15 per bottle, it does a great job. No added benedfits with pouring 2 bottles in.
