Default Used Parts....

Okay guys need an honest opinion on what you guys would do. I have the opportunity to get a "USED" APS Torque Converter for cheap, real cheap, I'm talking $60 cheap. It is off of an 04' Ram, I know he takes it to the track often and is only swapping it out because he needed one that was rated for a 150 shot of nitrous. This is the same guy that will be installing my cam later on in the year so I really dont think he would sell a part that was ruined or anything like that. He already told me that I should take it somewhere to get it cleaned up a bit and I would do that anyways. Should I do it or not? Is it worth buying it used and saving damn near $400 or will it end up costing that much after its been cleaned up?

That is a great deal if it is in good working order. What is the stall on it?

I also know that it will work with the setup I am going to have after the cam install because this guy is running basically what I will have in mine after I am done (minus the Nitrous).

Id have to ask him again but I believe he said about a year and a half or so and it was working fine when he replaced it with the new one.

For those that are voting not to get it and get a new one, can you give me a reason or two why you would go that route instead getting it reworked? Im just curious is all

For that price, you can't lose. The 2800 stall sounds like it would work good with the mods you have planned for your truck. If I was you I would buy it up in a second and not think twice about it.
