THE BEST MOD EVER (no seriously)
I too have a 2500 4x4 and run 33's and towing the camper I have to run with OD's off. I currently have 3.73's and have been wanting to do 4.56's and will do so in the next year or 2. (just spent $1750 on the front end!) I get 8 mpg at best towing.
What mileage do you get towing, and what are you towing? Is it a camper or an equipment trailer?
What did you do for the gear correction?
Crush sleeves or shims for the pinion preload?
Where did you get gears and install kits and how much (if you don't mind me asking)?

well where to start.
Uhhh I got the gears at a price of 583$ Canadian for both sets so whats our dollar i think its about 80c on your dollar so I got a smoking deal.
My baseline mileage was about 12 ish combined (hand calculated) now Im sitting at about 14. This is mostly city driving and a good amount of highway as well.
When I tow its a 30 foot enclosed aluminum trailer (think wind resistance in a side wind) with a 1967 camaro and lots of tools and spare tires so total weight there is about 7800 lbs. The first time I towed there was no wind and I got 9 mpg. The second time I was battleing a strong crosswind so I turned o/d off and got 6.9 mpg as displayed on the overhead so that equated to about 7.8 or 8 ish in real life.
Gear Correction? What are you refering to here? how to set backlash or how i corrected the Speedo. If the latter I have a S/C 3815.
Pinion Pre load was set by a crush sleeve
And the bearing were freshly replaced by the previous owner so we did not go with a master rebuild for two reasons. A) Im a student I cannot afford too much more because all of our hard parts are so much more north of the border and B) Everythign was immaculated inside the housing.
And the gears finally came from a local venue called the gear center. I got em for cost from this place.

I have to agree my supercharger was my favorite mod, but the 4.10s and alcohol injection run a close second.
alcohol injection is pretty neat stuff I will agree I have it on my vortech blown 5.0 mustang I can run pretty big timing with it.

You won't see that big a difference in MPG towing or empty(maybe 1-2, unless you baby it) but the difference in the way it tows will be amazing. We went from an 04 QC 2500 auto Hemi with 4.10s & tow pkg (which SUCKED for towing our current camper) to our 08' PowerWagon w/4.56s & 6-speed G-56 manual. What a difference pulling the same camper. I tow at MAX GCVWR (10,500lbs) and unless you are trying to accelerate fast, you hardly notice it. It ain't no diesel by any means, but it certainly made All the difference. Don't know why Dodge don't make it an option on all of thier trucks, 1500,2500,3500. IMO the 4.56s & G-56 manual truly put the 2500/PowerWagons in the HD gas truck catagory.
