I just did my antenna. You have to take a rag and channel locks and get that small nut off on top of the black plastic piece. It is silver. But you will scratch it if you dont use a rag. then just pull on the plastic and it comes out. leave the antenna screwed in otherwise the adapter will fall into your fender and you will have to take the wheel well liner off to get it.
It looks good painted. I am trying to find crap to paint on my truck but everything is already black!!

You can get a can of colormatch for our trucks at pepboys for about $4. But it depends on what year you have bc at some point Dodge changed the black. On my 04 I have been using the basic colormatch on my truck and it is a perfect match.

When I get my bed painted because of getting keyed i am trying to work in getting my bumpers/rims/grille painted.
On another note, you know this new metallic black that dodge has actually has a match paint by duplicolor too. I have my headlights /inside trim/front dodge badge/antenna done in it. Not an EXACT match but pretty close.
